Bio
Amy Parada is a first-generation college graduate and the daughter of Salvadoran immigrants with more than 15 years of experience leading community organizing, advocacy and coalition-building efforts across California. Throughout her career, she has built community-powered movements that advance educational equity, immigrant rights, civic engagement, economic justice, and neighborhood safety by developing grassroots leaders and strengthening community partnerships.
Amy has led regional and statewide organizing campaigns that have mobilized thousands of parents, students, educators, and community members to advocate for policy and systems change. She helped build the Santa Clara County Parent Coalition into a leading regional voice for families, organized successful neighborhood and pedestrian safety campaigns that secured infrastructure improvements in underserved communities, advanced affordable housing and tenant advocacy efforts, expanded voter engagement initiatives, and convened one of the largest mayoral candidate forums in the South Bay, creating meaningful opportunities for residents to shape public policy.
Throughout her career, Amy has built durable coalitions across labor, education, nonprofit, faith-based, and community organizations to advance local and statewide legislative priorities. She has designed leadership development programs that have trained thousands of parents, youth, and community advocates, ensuring directly impacted communities have the tools and relationships to lead lasting change.
Amy also served as a public narrative coach through Harvard Kennedy School and Stanford University’s Leadership, Organizing, and Action Program, where she coached organizers, advocates, and emerging movement leaders in storytelling for leadership, public action, and collective impact.
She earned her degree in public policy and social inequality. Amy’s leadership is grounded in the belief that lasting change is achieved when directly impacted communities build collective power, shape public policy and lead the movements that transform their communities.
