Contract Position Field CanvassersThe American Civil Liberties Union of San Diego and Imperial Counties (ACLU-SDIC) seeks to contract with motivated and outgoing individuals to join our voter engagement program as field canvassers. This will be a non-partisan effort to engage ACLU members around the importance of the district attorney and ACLU’s Smart Justice platform. Field canvassers will knock on doors and talk over the phone with voters and ACLU members throughout San Diego County.District attorneys (DA) have tremendous power to impact the lives of millions of people, their families, and entire communities, but most people do not know their local DA or what they do. They decide whether to press charges, to seek jail time or to provide an opportunity to rebuild a person’s life by referring to a diversion program.This is a part-time, temporary contract position that runs through June 5th, 2018. Field canvassers will work 10-15 hours per week, during evenings and weekends under the direction of an ACLU Organizer. Individuals impacted by the criminal justice system, or formerly – incarcerated individuals are encouraged to apply.About the ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties: The ACLU-SDIC is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 civil liberties and civil rights organization working to advance equality, freedom, and justice.
