Graciela is a first-generation college graduate and proud daughter of immigrant farmworkers in the Central Valley. She was born and raised in the rural agricultural community of Mendota and San Diego became home when she studied Political Science and Chicano/a studies at the University of California, San Diego. Since attaining her bachelor’s degree, Graciela has been involved with and worked for MANA de San Diego in the Hermanitas Mentorship Program and Pre-College Institute’s Upward Bound. She is passionate about organizing in order to impact on a range of issues critical to making society more equitable. As an advocate and scholar, Graciela is a former RISE Urban Leaders Fellow and active with the Chicano/Latino Alumni Association. In her spare time, she enjoys discovering new places to eat and learning about different topics through podcasts.
