Gaia Croston joined the ACLU-SDIC in March 2017 and serves as the organization’s digital organizer. In her role, Gaia develops and implements effective and impactful communications, data management, and digital organizing strategies to empower leaders, build community power, and achieve advocacy wins throughout the region. She aspires towards greatness, motivated by the loved ones and organizers whose shoulders she stands on and whose experiences inform the interconnected movements she holds dear.

Gaia, a San Diego local, has been organizing and building community power since high school. Much of her work has centered on advocating for youth civic engagement, equitable access to medicine and health care, LGBTQIA+ rights and wellbeing, electing progressive candidates, and expanding civil rights and civil liberties. Since 2017, she has proudly served on the planning committee for She Fest – a volunteer-run program that uplifts, connects, supports and empowers LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people in the San Diego region. Gaia holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and sociology from the University of Edinburgh.
