Bio
Eugene Yoo leverages more than six years of experience in fundraising and a prior career as an attorney. His passion for advocacy has helped secure more than $11 million to support under-resourced students and people experiencing homelessness.
Prior to joining the ACLU, Eugene worked for the University of California San Diego, securing funding to remove financial barriers for workforce training and K-12 education programs. He also worked at Father Joe’s Villages, obtaining awards for services and housing for people experiencing homelessness in San Diego. Prior to his work in fundraising, Eugene served as a law clerk for several offices of the public defender and helped obtain special education services for foster children as an attorney with Alliance for Children’s Rights.
Eugene is a proud banana slug, earning a bachelor's in business management economics from UC Santa Cruz. He received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law with a Public Interest and Social Justice Law Certificate, emphasis in criminal justice.
