The ACLUF-SDIC is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) civil liberties and civil rights organization. working to advance equality, freedom and justice through public education and litigation. Together with the ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties, the 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that does our legislative lobbying work, we are a prominent force for the protection and expansion of fundamental rights in California’s second-most populous county (San Diego) and the county with the highest per capita Latine population (Imperial).
 
While there are more than 50 ACLU affiliates nationwide, our work covers the length of California’s border with Mexico. We work collaboratively with the National ACLU and with ACLU affiliates in California, on the U.S-Mexico border and throughout the United States. In addition, we value partnerships and collaboration with community organizations and groups across the state and throughout the binational border region.

About the Network and Position
The Imperial Vally Rapid Response Network Planning Committee (IVRRN) is a joint force of immigrant rights advocates collaborating to develop and operate a regional network that provides support and assistance to immigrant communities – including Know Your Rights education, resource referral, and a coordinated response to immigration raids and arrest reports to immigrants in Imperial County. This position is based in Imperial County.
 
IVRRN is seeking a Program Manager who will be responsible for coordinating, managing and carrying out the activities of the coalition. The Program Manager reports to the Imperial Valley Regional Director and is accountable to the IV Steering Committee and members of the coalition. The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with the IVRRN Coalition including providing general oversight for coalition activities and associated projects; grant development, submission, and management; reporting; and technical assistance to coalition and partnerships that focus on immigrant rights. The Program Manager will work to develop and implement strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of Imperial Valley based community institutions, organizations and individuals in IVRRN coalition activities.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, manage, and ensure implementation of all IVRRN activities as outlined in relevant work plans and as assigned.
• Coordinate and facilitate bimonthly coalition meetings, IV Steering Committee meetings and legal meetings as assigned;
• Liaison between IVRRN steering committee and IVRRN subcommittees including legal, organizing, policy, and communications; ensure there is constant day-to-day communication among all committees to move the work forward.
• Provide IV Steering Committee, subcommittees, and coalition with programmatic support, including help developing program documents, grant writing including submission, editing, and creating other documents as requested;
• Develop process to track coalition members activities and volunteer participation.
• Responsible to build and maintain relationships with coalition members; responsible to onboard new coalition members and maintain IVRRN shared folder up to date.
• As needed, consult with the ACLU-SDIC consultant to provide additional guidance to coalition and help develop the network’s scope of work.
• Coordinate administrative work for legal response strategy and support policy committee for coalition’s advocacy actions; specifically, working with members to develop policy positions and engage with policymakers and assist legal subcommittee identify best practices for legal response strategy.
• Conduct literature and resource reviews to identify best practices for coalition; responsible for identifying training for coalition members.
• Continually broaden expertise in immigrant rights to serve as resource person to coalition members.
• Coordinate educational workshops, press events, and larger events; responsible for conducting outreach on behalf of coalition to garner support and identify new coalition partners.
• Prepare monthly reports on service deliverables, coalition activities, and programmatic goals progress.
• Create and modify budgets, monitor program finances, and communications work.
• Produces quarterly itemized category financial report for use in grantors reports.
• Mails meeting minutes and reminders, newsletters, and other written communications; responsible for printing materials for coalition meetings and following up on action items discussed.
• Answers telephone, handles requests as appropriate, and relays messages.
• Operates computers, typewriters, fax machines, copiers, and other office machines as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Our Must Haves:

• Knowledge of Imperial Valley immigrant communities and organizations that serve these communities
• Strong administrative background, attention to detail, and organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work with and facilitate consensus building among diverse groups and personalities
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently to manage priorities, and prioritize workflow with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor's degree in related field (social work, public health, public policy, international studies, or related field) or a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in program management in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of basic PC applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
• Experience with and commitment to working with immigrants and to advance immigrant rights movement
• Able to work some evenings and weekends as needed to carry out program activities

Physical Requirements:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to exchange accurate information, detect/identify documents and the information contained in them, move between areas in and out of the office to complete their role. The employee may need to move various equipment including computer to their work location.
 
Hybrid Working:
This position is based in Imperial County, though employees have hybrid schedules that allow for remote work.
 
Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel by way of a personal vehicle in Imperial County.
 
Compensation:
The classification salary range for this position is $82,500-88,000. Salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including the knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual selected.
